We at Shakthi Group of Institutions, have made it habitual to felicitate commendable retired teachers of the District for their stupendous contribution to the field of Education as well as their societal service. To venerate the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan on September 5th 2020, Dr. C.N. Shankar Rao, Retired Lecturer in Sociology of Canara PU College and a notable writer is the right choice made by us along with his spouse Dr. Saraswathi Rao, retired lecturer in Physics from St. Agnes(Autonomous) College.
Dr C N Shankar hails from an austere family in Tirthahallitaluk of Shimoga District. He did his schooling in the Chakkodabail village and went to Bangalore for his graduation and post graduation. Shakthi education Trust is felicitating him for his extraordinary contributions to the field of education of about 48years. His abundant knowledge and mastery over Sociology has led him to author more than 115 books in Sociology both in Kannada and English for PU course, Degree classes of various universities (such as Karnataka, Kuvempu, Gulbarga, Davanagere and Rani Chennamma University). Most of his reference books are recommended by all Universities of Karnataka. He created a revolution by writing ‘SamajaShastradaKiruVishwakosha’ – mini encyclopedia of Sociology in Kannada in two volumes of 3000 pages, which is the first of its kind in vernacular languages of India, perhaps his Masterpiece.
He has remained the Student Union Secretary during his college days, served as a Treasurer at Karnataka Sociological Association and the President of ABVP Karnataka as well as President of VSS Trust Mangalore branch.
He is the District President of the AkhilaBharatiya Sahithya Parishad. He was conferred with Doctorate of Literature from the Mangalore University in 2019.
The felicitation programme will be encompassed by the presence of Dr.K C Naik, the Administrator, Ramesh.K, Chief Advisor, PrakyathRai, Institute Development Officer,Prabhakara G S, Principal Shakthi PU College, Vidya Kamath, Principal Shakthi Residential School, Neema Saxena, Co-ordinator, Shree Gopalakrishna Pre-school and all staff while the students will witness the event live on’Shakthi Live’ Facebook page, said the Chief Advisor Ramesh K.

ಶಕ್ತಿನಗರದ ಶಕ್ತಿ ರೆಸಿಡೆನ್ಯಿಯಲ್ ಶಾಲೆ ಮತ್ತು ಶಕ್ತಿ ಪಪೂ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ವತಿಯಿಂದ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರ ದಿನಾಚರಣೆ ಅಂಗವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರತಿ ವರ್ಷದಂತೆ ಈ ವರ್ಷವು ಗುರುವಂದನ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿವೃತ್ತ ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸಕರು ಹಾಗೂ ಖ್ಯಾತ ಸಮಾಜಶಾಸ್ತ್ರದ ಲೇಖಕರಾದ ಡಾ. ಚ.ನಾ. ಶಂಕರ್‌ರಾವ್‌ಗೆ ಸನ್ಮಾನ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ನಾಳೆ ಬೆಳಗ್ಗೆ 10 ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ಶ್ರೀ ಗೋಪಾಲಕೃಷ್ಣ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನದ ಸುಧರ್ಮಹಾಲ್ ಶಕ್ತಿನಗರದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಅತಿಥಿಯಾಗಿ ಡಾ. ಸರಸ್ವತಿ ರಾವ್ ನಿವೃತ್ತ ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕರಾದ ಸೈಂಟ್ ಆಗ್ನೇಸ್ ಕಾಲೇಜು, ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಇವರು ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆಯನ್ನು ಶಕ್ತಿ ಎಜ್ಯುಕೇಶನ್ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟ್‌ನ ಆಡಳಿತಾಧಿಕಾರಿ ಡಾ. ಕೆ.ಸಿ. ನಾೖಕ್ ವಹಿಸಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಇವರು ಮೂಲತಃ ತಿರ್ಥಹಳ್ಳಿಯವರು ಇವರು ಕೆನರಾ ಪಪೂ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮಾಜ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರದ ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸಕರಾಗಿ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಿ ನಿವೃತ್ತರಾಗಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಸುಮಾರು 48 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ನೀಡಿದ ಅಪಾರ ಕೊಡುಗೆಯನ್ನು ಸ್ಮರಿಸುವ ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನು ಶಕ್ತಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾಸಂಸ್ಥೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಕನ್ನಡ ಮತ್ತು ಇಂಗ್ಲೀಷ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಪಿಯು ಪಠ್ಯಪುಸ್ತಕ ಬರೆದಿರುವ ಇವರು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ವಿವಿಧ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾನಿಲಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯು ಇವರ ಪಠ್ಯ ಜಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇದೆ. ಇವರು ಸಮಾಜಶಾಸ್ತ್ರದಲಿ 115 ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳನ್ನು ಬರೆದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇವರು 3000 ಪುಟಗಳ ಎರಡು ಸಂಪುಟಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡದ ಸಮಾಜಶಾಸ್ತ್ರದ ಕಿರು ವಿಶ್ವಕೋಶಾ – ಮಿನಿ ವನ್ ಸೈಕ್ಲೋಪೀಡಿಯಾ ಆಪ್ ಸೋಶಿಯಾಲಜಿ ಬರೆಯುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಒಂದು ಕ್ರಾಂತಿಯನ್ನು ರಚಿಸಿದರು. ಇದು ಭಾರತದ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಭಾಷೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಕಟವಾಗಿದೆ. ಇವರು ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕವಾಗಿ ಎಬಿವಿಪಿ, ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಸೇವಾಟ್ರಸ್ಟ್, ಅಖಿಲ ಭಾರತೀಯ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಪರಿಷತ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿಯು ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇವರಿಗೆ ಮಂಗಳೂರು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾನಿಲಯವು ಸಮಾಜಶಾಸ್ತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಡಾಕ್ಟರೇಟ್ ಪದವಿಯನ್ನು ನೀಡಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಇವರ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದ ಸೇವೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಸೇವೆಯನ್ನು ಪರಿಗಣಿಸಿ ಶಕ್ತಿ ಎಜ್ಯುಕೇಶನ್ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟ್ ಇವರನ್ನು ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರ ದಿನಾಚರಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸಲು ತಿರ್ಮಾನಿಸಿದೆ.
